Melissa & Bryan - Madison, Wisconsin
January 27, 2009Engagements

I can't even begin tell you how thankful I am for shooting this engagement session. We've been trying to get together for seemingly 2 months. If it wasn't raining, it was bitter cold with a howling wind. If Bryan wasn't ill, I was ill. And in the weeks between all that mess, I was also in New York visiting my sister and my new little nephew for Christmas, or I was in AZ attending a photography conference. So, this past Saturday everything fell into place. It was only 5 degrees F, and we had NO wind. ...I simply sent these two wonderful people trudging through snow up to their knees a few times as my fingers froze to the camera buttons. Their July 11th wedding should be MUCH more temperate. :)

Lotsa love my friends,

c

Flight of the human spirit
January 16, 2009Personal

I met an amazing 25 year old woman on the flight from Phoenix to Minneapolis today. She went blind 2 days before she turned 15 when her snowmobile hit a patch of ice and slush, slid across a rural country road, and hit a tree head-on. The doctors gave her a 5% chance of survival. This young woman not only has an amazing will to survive, she has an amazing will to live and bless those around her. I've never met anyone with a more positive outlook on life, and it struck home when she said, “I can see perfectly through my own heart”. Listening to her story and as she talked to other passengers on the plane, I was almost brought to tears. Of all the things I've learned through this amazing week, the one thing I will never forget: “Sometimes it's better to see with our hearts, not our eyes”.

God Bless,

c

Desert shootout - Carefree, Arizona
January 12, 2009Portraits

WOW! What an amazing day we had on Sunday. This inspired Milwaukee wedding photographer joined several photographers and four models for a little fun shootout session at the foothills near Carefree, Arizona—about 30 minutes north of Phoenix. The Models were amazing, the sunset and vistas were awesome! We even found a 7 foot high drainage culvert to shoot in and around. Below are a few quick selections from Sunday's shoot. Please stay tuned, more images coming as the week rolls on. :)

Spreadin' the good love :)

Katie Raebel - July Wedding, 2007

Craig covered my July 2008 wedding and was such a pleasure to work with! My standards for wedding photography were set high and I was looking for someone who would: 1. Bring out the best in my bridal party/guests 2. Focus on capturing candid moments 3. Be invisible and unobtrusive 4. and have an exceptional eye for composition and artistic style. Craig went above and beyond my expectations. Not only was he professional and an expert in his field, he was also very personable and had an obvious passion for his work. He listened to my requests and suggestions with sincerity and was more than accommodating. A number of my guests informed me that he was constantly moving around, taking tons of pictures, and getting unique shots of the details saying "You are going to have some great pictures of this wedding!". I would highly recommend Craig to anyone who's looking for unique and beautiful pictures of their event. You will not be disappointed!

Katie

Craig-
Thank you so much for the photo! You made my day. After I commented, I look through your blog some more. WOW! You are so talented!! You have a definite artistic eye for making ordinary things look extraordinary! Your wedding/engagement photos are AMAZING! Where were you when I got married? :) I think my favorite picture was of the couple in Chicago taken in the mirror so that you got both front and back. Way cool. I forwarded your site to my SIL who is into photography (she loves sites like yours) and she was going to post it on her message board so some of her friends who are photographers could check them out. She couldn't stop raving about your photos though. I think they look like magazine spreads. Kudos to you my dear! You are fabulous! Your blog is now bookmarked in my favorites! :)

Thanks Craig. I'm really excited that we were able to get you for our Wedding. I have literally looked at over 40 Chicago/Milwaukee photographer's websites in the past couple of days, and your portfolio seems to be in a completely different league than everyone else, imho. My fiance will be proud of me :) Look forward to meeting you!
