This is a post I've been dying to get to. I knew from the day I talked to Jake, this was going to be a special wedding — and it certainly didn't disappoint. The families and friends were amazing, and that just made the venue seem oh so much better. Really, there isn't a place in Wisconsin quite like this little slice of Ireland at Whistling Straits. And to top it off, the amazing people at Whistling Straits really know how to put on a wedding. It was absolutely stunning from beginning to end. The floral decorations, the table settings, the catering, the Irish Barn, the Champions Clubhouse — it was all superb.
I'll be honest, the day didn't start out the greatest when I woke up to rain in Milwaukee. But on my drive north, the skies cleared and low and behold the perfect day unfolded. And thanks to such a beautiful day, you may notice there is LOT more color included in this post than what you typically see on my blog. In fact, there are a LOT more photos in this post than normal. Period. This is the longest blog post to date. I've never been one to hate color photography, I absolutely love it. But I've always been one to say, "the color needs to have reason to be in the photo"; and it was incredibly hard not to find a reason. :)
A couple of my favorite moments throughout the day; the little girl hiding in the grass behind Jake during a little portrait session. The "First Look" - I always love that moment. The Mariachi band before dinner; they reminded me of my favorite little Mexican eatery in Milwaukee, Jalapeño Loco. And lastly, the girls rockin' out with the air guitars during the dance. They were freakin' jammin'. This wedding was a total celebration from beginning to end.
In so many ways I feel absolutely honored to have been invited to be amongst your family and friends during your amazing day.
